Britain in Space

LittLEO

The LittLEO (Little launcher for Low Earth Orbit) rocket was originated in 1987 by the British company General Technology Systems. It consisted of a four-stage satellite launcher using solid propellant, and was to be able to put 300-500 Kg payloads into Polar Orbits of 300 Km or more.

An industrial group of companies from all over Europe was assembled to work on the project: British Aerospace, MBB-ERNO, Royal Ordinance, SAAB Space and the Norwegian Space Centre. Norway was to provide the Andoya Rocket Range for launches as well as working on the design and construction of the launcher.

The project appears to have ended in 1989.

As you can see, I still need more information on LittLEO. If you have any information or pictures to add, please:

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Yahoo closed GeoCities on the 26th October, and this site needed to be protected from being lost (although the some of the site has been archived by: Internet Archive GeoCities Project Team it is incomplete).

As all efforts to contact Stephen O'Brien have so far been without result, I have taken the unusual step of mirroring the content, whilst making technical updates. Obviously without Stephen O'Brien's involvement this is not an acceptable long term solution. To assist in this, or to make comments on the site please
